- The BRAVO cable tv network ran a show last night called umm..
- "MediaVision" or "MediaTV" or "MediaTelevision" or something like
- that. Near the tail end of the show was an approx. 3 minute
- segment on the rebirth of the Amiga, mainly footage they shot
- at the recent World of Amiga show in Toronto.
-
- With quickly scrolling text narration and a couple of short
- close up interviews from Petro T. of Amiga Tech and a fellow
- from NewTek, the rebirth of the Amiga was given some decent,
- if graphically-confusing coverage. (The graphic and visual
- design of this show is similar to what you'd have if you turned
- Wired magazine into a television show... nothing but tilted
- camera angles, incredibly fast jump-cuts, titling scrolling way
- too fast, etc.).
-
- (I know this is the trendy, gr00vie way that producers want
- to shoot high-tech-oriented video these days, but in my opinion,
- it SUCKS, as it's very visually disorienting and hard to follow.
- Call me an old fogie, but trying to apply the paradigm of
- a rock video to some other topics simply does not work!).
-
- At any rate, there it was. I don't know BRAVO's schedule nor
- if this show will be aired again nor when, but if you have their
- schedule you may wish to check it and try to catch this show.
- Again, the Amiga coverage was at the very end of the show just
- before the closing titles.
